MATH

STUDENTS UTILIZE SAXON MATHEMATICS TO LEARN MORE ABOUT ADDITION/SUBTRACTION FACTS AND STRATEGIES, USING MONEY, TIME TELLING, GRAPHS/DATA, FRACTIONS, AND GEOMETRICAL CONCEPTS. HANDS-ON APPROACH IS ALSO IMPLEMENTED TO ENHANCE THE LEARNING PROCESS WITH CLASSROOM SETS OF MANIPULATIVES.

SCIENCE

THE CURRICULUM IS AIMED AT MACMILLAN MCGRAW-HILL TO LEARN MORE ABOUT EARTH, BIOLOGY, PHYSICAL, AND LIFE EXPERIENCES. IN-CLASS EXPERIMENTS ARE PERFORMED TO FURTHER EXPLAIN VARIOUS CONCEPTS.

LANGUAGE ARTS

EMPHASIS ON READING AND WRITING ABILITIES ARE EXPLORED THROUGH MACMILLAN MCGRAW-HILL SERIES. PHONICS, SPELLING, AND VOCABULARY ARE INCORPORATED THROUGH THE STORIES AND WRITINGS PROVIDED. WATERFORD CURRICULUM IS A SUPPLEMENT USED BY STUDENTS INDIVIDUALLY TO SUPPORT WHOLE GROUP LEARNING IN ALL PARTS OF LITERACY.

SOCIAL STUDIES

ENVIRONMENT AND HISTORICAL CULTURES ARE IMPLEMENTED THROUGH HARCOURT’S SERIES. STUDENTS ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE OF CITIZENSHIP, HISTORY, ECONOMICS, GEOGRAPHY AND GOVERNMENT THROUGH READING, RESEARCH, AND PERSONAL EXPERIENCES. 

RELIGION

NLRCA PROVIDES STUDENTS WITH RELIGIOUS BASED CURRICULUM ACROSS ALL SUBJECT AREAS. OUR STUDENTS GAIN FOUNDATIONAL FOOTSTEPS TO BECOMING LIfELONG STEWARDS OF THE CHURCH BY LEADING SCHOOL MASS TWICE A WEEK. RELIgION CLASSES TEACH STUDENTS ABOUT HE CATHOLIC FAITH, SCRIPTURE, IMITATING THE LIFE OF CHRIST, PRAYER, AND MASS. WEEKLY ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT InSTILLS A DEEP DEVOTION TO CHRIST. SPECIAL OpPORTUNITIES ARE OFFERED FOR STUDENTS TO EXPERIENCE THE CATHOLIC FAITH ACROSS CULTURES WITH THE FEAST DAY OF OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE AND THE LAS POSADAS.
